About
The Hunter House Foundation stewards the residence at 203 Goward Road and the archival legacy of its architect. Its overarching aim is to realize the speculative futures embedded in Hunter's drawings — among them a cantilevered Skywalk and the unfinished East Wing developments — and to open the archive to scholars, students, and the public. Established 2026 · Victoria, British Columbia · not-for-profit.

Three columns of work.
The Hunter House Student Fellowship is a pilot fellowship supporting one or two students per semester on research, design, writing, or art engaging the archive. Open to undergraduate and graduate students working at the intersections Hunter himself moved through — architecture and its adjacent disciplines: art history, Zen, vernacular and alternative communities, organic design. Each fellowship culminates in a deliverable that enters the archive.
Applications open September 2026. Write for the prospectus.

The archive measures usage in a deliberately minimal, privacy-respecting
way: which items are viewed, what visitors search for, which files are
downloaded, and a coarse country. We set no cookies, store
no IP addresses, and use no third-party trackers
— the small amount of data we keep lives in the Foundation’s own
infrastructure and exists only to help us catalogue what people are looking
for. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control
signal, we record nothing. You can also opt a device out entirely by
visiting the catalogue with ?noanalytics=1 appended to the
address (and ?noanalytics=0 to opt back in).
